Week 8 - MKTG 3349 - Chat GPT AI

I personally have never been one to particularly pride myself of being in the know when it comes to trending topics. I have quite possibly the bare minimum level of priviness of what's going on in the world to be able to call myself an 'informed citizen'. However, it was not difficult at all for me to find out about Chat GPI, as it has taken the internet by storm these past few weeks, and has proven to be so popular that when I eventually gave in to my curiosity and decided to see for myself firsthand what the big deal was, the website said it couldn't support anymore users and to try again later.
After finally giving the software a try as per Professor Kelsey's suggestion, it is fascinating to see answers to questions you ask, as you can tell these aren't the sort of answers Google would come up with, yet aren't any less correct than those found on Google. I asked what the meaning of life is, and it said that the meaning of life is a subjective idea that changes from person to person. Can't say I disagree. I asked who the best band ever is, and it was smart enough not to give an opinion, rather it gave a small handful of bands that many consider to be the best (it included The Beatles so not much to argue there). However, I am most impressed with its response to my prompt of "Short horror story"

It was a dark and stormy night. The wind howled outside, shaking the windows of the old, dilapidated house. Inside, a young couple huddled together on the couch, trying to stay warm.

Suddenly, they heard a loud knock at the door. The man slowly got up to answer it, but when he opened the door, there was no one there.

He shrugged it off as the wind and went back to the couch, but then they heard the knocking again, this time coming from the fireplace.

The couple looked at each other in fear, wondering what could be causing the strange noises.

The knocking continued, growing louder and more urgent, until finally the couple couldn't take it any longer. They ran out of the house, never looking back.

As they fled into the night, they didn't notice the figure standing in the shadows, watching them with a malevolent smile. It was the ghost of the previous owner of the house, seeking revenge for their trespassing.

The couple was never seen again, and the old house remains empty to this day, haunted by the ghost that still lurks within its walls.

I can honestly say that AI is going to be a very big part of our future, and even something as objectively rudimentary as this has proved its relevance and validity to me.
